Bacon makes everything better, really?

I never knew this but apparently it's been around the web a few times. People will use bacon as a book mark. now I can understand that eating bacon while reading a good book could make the book better, but using bacon as a book mark? I think I might have to draw a line there, I don't want my books all greasy and oily, I want to be able to read them without having a page look see through.
